When the Race Organizing Committee (ROC) of Jack Frost & Big Boulder is preparing to host a Competition Event, a lot of volunteer help is needed to ensure all of our athletes and visiting athletes have an exceptional experience.
To host a race or event, it takes the cooperation of the ski area, coaches, and volunteers. It takes ALL OF US – both developmental and competition parents in order to pull off these events for our team members. Parent volunteers are the backbone of these races.
There’s very little to learn and it’s great to jump in with both feet. It’s also a very small time commitment, generally a few hours of your day for most ‘beginner’ positions. It’s a great way to meet other racer family members and see how the program really works. Remember, each racer family has an obligation over the course of the season for volunteer time.
United States Ski & Snowboard (USSS) has a number of membership categories. If you are intending to actively participate on a constant basis and have regular contact with athletes, you should pursue getting a Club Volunteer membership. As a member, you will receive Member Benefits as outlined by USSS. Get more info.
