The U10 and U12 race teams donned ponchos for the final race of the season at Blue Mountain on Sunday, Feb 16. The rain kept the crowds down, but spirits were up for both runs on the GS course.
Grace C. lead the way for the U12 girls with a 5th place first run enroute to a 6th place overall finish on the sloppy and deteriorating conditions. Josetta M. also cracked the top 10 with a 9th place finish. Not far behind was Cassidy M. in 11th, Riley P. in 13th, Kylee G. in 17th, Hope H. in 20th, Gabby W. in 22nd. Anna R. in 28th, Greta G. in 29th, Delia V. in 46th, Eva R. in 47th, and Maahi J. in 50th. The U10 girls all finished in the top 10 with Keena E. in 5th, Ella C. in 6th, Kenzie B. in 7th and Piper D. in 8th.
With the final scores tallied for the Eastern Regional standings, seven JFBB women will be participating in the State Championship next week at Roundtop Mountain. Congrats to Cassidy M., Grace C., Riley P., Josetta M., Kylee G., Hope H. and Gabby W.! With a quota of 10 racers, the JFBB women dominated the standings.
For the U12 boys, it was “Show Me the Podium” Shota O. in 2nd place overall. Shota has been on the podium in each race this season, an honor that landed him on top of the Eastern State Standings. Sawyer D. continued his steady racing for a 5th place overall finish followed by Andrei T. in 6th, Kellan B. in 8th. Kenji G. in 10th, Preston D. in 16th, Julian Q in 17th, George S. in 24th, Kaydin W. in 27th, Elliot F. in 28th, and Sammy V. in 36th.


For the U10 boys, Sullivan D. earned a silver medal. Sullivan was in fourth for the U10 boys after the first run and made the flip at 28th. His second run was the 18th fastest of the day vaulting him to the podium. Also, charging hard with strong races were James D. in 5th, John S. in 6th, Yash S. in 12th, and Kyle R., Koray B. and Owen D. tied at 13th.
Seven U12 Men also qualified for the State Championship. Congratulations to Sawyer D., Andrei T., Kenji G., Julian Q., Preston D., and Kellan B. Kellan B. was on the bubble entering the race at Blue Mountain sitting in 14th place. With a quota of 13, Kellan put together two solid runs to secure the 13th qualifying position.
