The U18/U21s Wrap Up their Season
The U18/U21 athletes spent three days at Elk two weeks ago for PA Cups 6, 7 & 8.
Things were done a little differently this year, and the senior “costume run”, which is traditionally the last run on Sunday (you know, their actual final run) was done on Saturday’s second run. Our men dressed up as a crew of Minions and our ladies were an assortment of cute animals!
Our seniors, Kasey, Raam and Owen crossed the finish line (yes, all of them crossed it) for the final time on Sunday afternoon as JFBB racers.
I say it each year, but this is truly a special weekend for all that are at Elk, but mostly for the senior racers. The emotions are hard to contain when it all ends — as ski racing has been a part of their lives for a very long time. They’ve experienced both the high and the lows, they’ve made friends across the state and most importantly, they’ve made memories to last a lifetime.
